The search for a missing Wayne County teacher has ended after search crews found his body Saturday morning.
Authorities say family members, who were at the scene, identified the body of Frederick Dunn after a search crew found him along the shoreline shortly after 10 a.m.
The search for the missing teacher had picked up again early Saturday morning in the Town of Huron.
"Around 7:30 a.m., search was resumed using ground crews from New York State Park Rangers and several members from local fire departments," said Wayne County Undersheriff Rick House.
House says crews searched land and water at the end of Dutch Street near Lake Ontario.
And not even three hours later, a crew found Dunn's body lying on the shoreline about 500 yards east of the street.
"There's no visible signs of trauma or any signs of foul play," said House.
Dunn had been missing since Wednesday. He was last seen at the town grocery store Bob's Big M. Police say the 48-year old left the North Rose-Wolcott school, where he taught music, telling the students he needed to run an errand. His car was later found in the area where authorities were searching.
Friday a Facebook page was set up about Dunn where students, friends and strangers expressed hope that he would be found safe. Saturday afternoon a relative of Dunn's posted a brief statement asking for prayers as well as privacy at this time.
"The investigation is continuing into the circumstances surrounding his death," said House.
The undersheriff says Dunn's body has been taken to Newark Wayne Community Hospital for an autopsy.
