Ontario County Library to Reopen after Water Damage

Ontario County Library to Reopen after Water Damage
An Ontario County library will reopen on a limited basis Friday after a pipe burst in the facility Monday, damaging thousands of books.

Canandaigua's Wood Library will open for normal business hours. Patrons will only be able to visit the ground floor and the second floor as the first floor is still closed for cleanup.

The water caused damage to the adult fiction section and the children's section. The library director says about 2,000 books, valued between $30,000 and $50,000 were damaged.

The damaged books are now at a freeze drying facility in Rushville where the director hopes most of the books can be saved.
