Daikin McQuay to Close Auburn Factory
A major employer in Cayuga County is leaving. The Daikin McQuay factory in Auburn says it will close by December of 2014.

A company spokesperson tells YNN the company is moving production to a Tennessee facility.

Daikin McQuay manufactures heating and ventilation equipment.

The spokesperson wouldn't give a specific numbers of layoffs, but hundreds of people work at the plant.

Right now, the company says it's negotiating with United Steel Workers and working with community leaders to minimize the impact on Auburn.
