Wayne County Teen Dies From Influenza
The Wayne County Health Department confirms a child in the county died from
complications from influenza.

A family spokesman says 14-year-old Tyler Finn of Newark died Wednesday at Strong Hospital.

Administrators urge people to get vaccinated, wash their hands thoroughly, and stay home for work or school if you are sick.

The Finn family issued the following statement:

"The Finn Family would like to take this opportunity to thank the many friends, family and members of our community for your kind thoughts, prayers and acts of kindness during Tyler’s illness. Tyler will always have a special place in the hearts of those who knew him."
Calling hours for Tyler will be held at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home from 3 to 6 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Tyler's funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Woodlane Community Church in Newark.

Donations can be made in the memory of Tyler to the Humane Society of Wayne County or the Ronald McDonald House.
