Police Arrest Suspect in Tacoma Street Homicide
A Rochester man is accused of fatally stabbing a man with a screwdriver. Police believe this was not a random act of violence.

Marcellus Timmons, 23, is charged with second degree murder in the death of Todd Davidson.

Timmons appeared in Rochester City Court Thursday morning. A not guilty plea was entered.

Court documents say that Timmons got into a fight with the 52-year-old Davidson at Davidson's Tacoma Street apartment Wednesay morning.

Timmons allegedly stabbed Davidson in the side of the head with a screwdriver and then choked him with hood strings.

Police discovered his body after responding to a burglary call at that location.

Davidson's family has no idea why anyone would kill a father of six.

"He enjoyed life, he loved having fun. He was an excellent dancer and loved to sing. He was an excellent cook; anything he got his hands on he'd throw something together and make something out of something. He never had trouble with anyone, no criminal record or anything. He loved his children," said Petta Davidson, Todd Davidson's sister.

Police believe the two knew each other.

Timmons is being held without bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled next Tuesday.

If convicted, he faces 25 years to life in prison.
