Free Event for National Black HIV Awareness Day
Thursday is the 13th annual National Black HIV AIDS Awareness Day. Some local groups are hosting an event to observe the day, trying to get the point across to young people.
They'll highlight the impact of the disease on African American communities and also motivate people to get tested for HIV. Free rapid HIV testing will be available.
The free event is at the Edgerton Stardust Ballroom on Backus Street from 6:30 to 8:00 Thursday evening.
