Woman Sentenced for Hitting Pedestrian and Fleeing Crash Scene
A Rochester woman who hit and seriously injured another woman with her car in November of 2011 is headed to prison.
Kashia Houston was sentenced Tuesday to 2? to seven years in state prison.
Prosecutors say Houston was driving drunk and texting on her phone when she struck and injured Sherry Argo. Argo was celebrating her birthday and was exiting her vehicle when she was struck.
Houston fled the scene, later telling police she thought she struck something, but didn't stop.
Along with the prison sentence, Houston's license was revoked for one year following her release.
