Guilty Plea From Former Owner of Pizza Shop
A former owner of a local pizza shop pleaded guilty on Friday to a charge of criminal sexual act.
Taha Alashwal of Syracuse pleaded guilty to having a relationship with a 14-year-old boy through his business and taking him to a hotel in Henrietta. The boy was able to avoid Alashwal's sexual advances by stabbing him with a pen in the hotel room.
Alashwal will be sentenced in March, where he faces seven years in prison and 12 years of post-release supervision. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
