Bells at U of R Toll for West Webster Fire Department
Members of the West Webster Fire Department rang the bell at the University of Rochester's Rush Rhees Library in a ceremonial final call for the department's two fallen firefighters, who died Christmas Eve in an ambush shooting.

The ceremonial tolling of the bell dates back to the earliest days of organized firefighting, when a bell signaled the fire department's end of watch each night.
The bell rang nine times each on Wednesday for firefighters Mike Chiapperini and Tomasz Kaczowka.
