Knighthawks Salute First Responders

Knighthawks Salute First Responders
It was "First Responder Appreciation Night" at the Rochester Knighthawks game on Saturday.

The Knighthawks faced-off against the Toronto Rock, and first responders were given complimentary tickets to the indoor lacrosse match-up.

The organization says this is a great way to show its support to the men and women who risk their lives to protect our community.

Bryan Bayer, who served with the two fallen firefighters, tells us they would be touched by the showing of support from their community.

"I think they'd be humbled by this. Obviously, they'd probably go 'oh we don't need all this fanfare' but both of them deserve the recognition they're getting on what they did as volunteers in that tragedy. No one expects that to happened to them. And I think they'd be humbled by the outpouring," said Bayer, W. Webster Volunteer Firemen's Association VP.

Prior to the game, the team presented a check to the West Webster Fire Department totaling $1,100.
