The 10th annual Eastside Basketball charity tournament was held this weekend at St. John Fisher College Sunday afternoon.
The tournament teamed up with Christopher's Challenge, a Webster-based charity that helps find bone marrow matches. Sixty-five teams competed for a cause.
"When I first decided to become a donor, I'm not sure what pulled me in that direction, I just really wanted to do something to help others and I was lucky to get that opportunity," said donor Doreen Massie.
"So any drive that Christopher's challenge sponsors, we will pay the $100 fee for anyone who wants to be a committed bone marrow donor, so if you want to go through the testing, that would be an option for any patient," said Kathy Costello, Christopher's Challenge Chairperson.
All the proceeds from the event will be donated to Christopher's Challenge.
