Students at the Wegmans School of Pharmacy at St. John Fisher College celebrated the completion of its first semester.
Seventy-eight members of the class of 2016 received white coats in front of friends and family during the ceremony. The event marks the official induction of the students into their future profession.
"The White Coat is a symbol of that trust society has placed onto the health professionals," said Schott Swigart, Dean of Wegmans School of Pharmacy. "By giving these students their white coat before their clinical experience, it emphasizes that responsibility."
The annual ceremony is a rite of passage for students entering into the field.
