State of the State messages were delivered throughout the area Thursday. Lieutenant Governor Duffy passed on Governor Cuomo's message for the new year in Brighton.

Duffy says Cuomo is committed to changing the Upstate economy for 2013, and the key is through job growth.

Duffy says Cuomo's recognition of Upstate New York along with key legislative leaders will help revitalize the area.

"We have a governor who understands Upstate, who supports Upstate, who sees the Upstate revitalization as key for the entire state. I think there have been many attempts in the past to include Upstate. I have seen nothing to even come close to what Governor Cuomo has done in the last two years," said Duffy.

Topics Duffy touched on were the governor's plans for economic growth, the Second Amendment, and job creation.
