Ten People Displaced After St. Paul Street Apartment Fire
Emergency crews responding to a fire at an apartment building Wednesday night on St. Paul Street had more to deal with than just the fire.

Crews went to St. Paul Street just before 9 p.m. for a report of thick smoke coming from a building. When they got there, firefighters had to battle both the fire and the weather at the same time.

"The first thing is response. You know, everyone getting here safely. And beyond that it's slippery surfaces, water turning to ice, guys are up on ladders going to the roof there's a possibility of ladders freezing and whatnot. There's a number of hazards we gotta deal with," said Acting Battalion Chief Jim Ryan, Rochester Fire Department.

According to the Rochester Fire Department, there are five apartments in the building.

Four adults and six kids made it out safely. The Red Cross will be helping them.

No one was injured.
