The action was spearheaded by councilman Adam McFadden.

The new police complaint line replaces an old system, which McFadden says often took far too long to process citizen complaints.

"We'll streamline complaints so that they go through faster. In the past, some complaints were taking two years before a decision was made. Under this process, some could take as fast as 60 to 90 days, so when you think about the difference in timing, that's huge," said McFadden, (D).
