Newtown's Catholic Priest Has Rochester Connection
The Catholic priest who was part of Sunday Night's prayer vigil in Newtown, Connecticut was once assigned to the Rochester area.
Monsignor Robert "Bob" Weiss was ordained a priest in May 1973 at Saint Christopher's Church in Chili.
While in the Diocese of Rochester, he served as an assistant pastor at Corpus Christi and Saint Mary Our Mother in Horseheads, Chemung County.
Monsignor Weiss now serves at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Newtown.
Weiss also lead Friday's prayer vigil at the church the Newtown church.
