Family and Friends came together to help out the community and honor a loved one lost.

Brian Kimble was violently murdered by his girlfriend in 2004.

And in college he would give back by helping out with Habitat for Humanity.

About 25 workers and 90 people including Kimble's family members joined forces Saturday during the 6th annual day of volunteering at the Flower city Habitat for Humanity.

His father told us about his son Brian's generous spirit.

"My son Brian was a campus coordinator for Habitat at his college at his college, at Clarkson University up in North Country. So that was a great impetus to get us involved in Habitat here locally in honor of his memory," said Kevin Kimble.

The Brian Kimble Fund raises about $2,000 for the FCHH every year.
