Woman who threw punch at Walmart cashier to remain in jail
A Batavia woman who punched an elderly Walmart cashier last year will remain in jail pending her appeal. That's according to the Genesee County District Attorney's office.
Jacquetta Simmons is serving a five-year prison sentence. A jury convicted her in August of assaulting Grace Suozzi at the Batavia Walmart.
Last December, Simmons punched Suozzi, who was 70 at the time, in the face.
Defense attorney's have until May 31st to present her appeal.
Simmons recently gave birth to a baby.
