Slaughter Re-Elected to House Rules Committee
The Democratic Caucus announced Thursday that it has re-elected Congresswoman Louise Slaughter to serve as the top Democratic Member of the House Rules Committee.
Slaughter was nominated by Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi and unanimously approved by the caucus.
The House Committee in Rules is one of the oldest standing committees in the House, having been constituted in the year 1789.
Slaughter served as the committee's first charwoman from 2007 to 2011.
