If you were out shopping this morning at Marketplace, Greece Ridge or Eastview, you may have heard some music right outside the doors of JC Penny.
Until December 23rd, volunteers will be selling Kazoos, Christmas ornaments, water bottles and peppermint pens as part of the 34th Annual Joe Benet Memorial Kazoo Fest. Money raised will benefit the children and families effected by cancer and other life threatening challenges who are served by Camp Good Days and Special Times’.
"29 people a week die from cancer in this county," said James Mccauley Jr. of Camp Good Days and Special Times. "We have an effort now called cancer mission 20/20. It's an effort to end cancer by the end of the decade. All the proceeds you see here, all the proceeds from the sales go right to our programs. We're going into our 34th year. All our programs are free of charge because of efforts like this."
The fundraising event is made possible because of volunteers and volunteers are still needed at all three locations. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for Kazoo Fest visit Camp Good Days and Special Times or call contact Melissa Cappelluti at Camp Good Days, at 585-624-5555.
