Sheriff's deputies were called to Route 96 in the Town of Farmington around 9:30 p.m. for the report of a pedestrian hit.

Deputies say 32-year-old Quincy Meeks was in the roadway when he was hit by a car heading eastbound. He was taken to F.F. Thompson Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

No charges have been filed.
