Man Accused of Rape Facing More Rape Charges

Man Accused of Rape Facing More Rape Charges
A man accused of raping three women in Irondequoit last year is facing new rape charges.

Michael Chess pleaded not guilty in Rochester City Court Saturday morning to rape and menacing. The charges stem from an incident last month where Chess allegedly threatened a woman at gunpoint and forced her to have sex with him.

Chess was originally charged in October 2011 with robbery and three counts of rape. He was accused then of robbing and raping women he met online. While that case was moving forward, Chess was out on bail.

That's when prosecutors say he committed the latest crime.

Chess was sent to jail Saturday on $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.

He is scheduled to return to court next week.
