Meagan Merkel is charged with vehicular manslaughter, DWI, and other traffic violations.

Prosecutors say she was drunk when bicyclist Heather Boyum was hit by a motorcycle and fell into the road in front of her in late July.

The motorcycle rider, Mark Scerbo, was Merkel's boyfriend. He's also charged in Boyum's death.

Merkel's attorney asked for a few weeks to look over the prosecution's evidence.

Merkel remains in the Monroe County Jail. She'll be back in court December 4th.
