Brooks Reflects on Election Loss
The political dust has had a couple of days to settle now since Tuesday's election, and that means time to reflect for some of the candidates who did not win.

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks fought a long and hard campaign in an attempt to
unseat twelve term incumbent Congresswoman Louise Slaughter. After the votes were tallied, Brooks lost by a fourteen percent margin.

The Republican County Executive says she still has to do some long-term thinking about her future, but, for the time being, there's still plenty of work to do on the county level.

Brooks said, "Looking back I'm very proud of the race that we ran. I'm very proud of the campaign we put together, put forward to the community. We've gotten a lot of great calls from supporters and otherwise who said they respected the race that we ran. So we move forward, I'm out in the community being the county executive and I love my job."

Brooks still has three years left in her final term as county executive. Term limits mandate this as her final term.
