After tallying all the votes, Republicans Steve Sessler and Eric Schiener each have 1,879 votes.

The Livingston County elections commissioner says there are four absentee votes in question that could potentially break the tie.

The commissioner says three of those ballots have extra markings on them and on the fourth there's a question as to the application of the ballot.

The race will now be decided in court, where a judge will likely rule on the validity of the ballots.
