Two people were seriously injured after a massive house explosion in Steuben County. It happened around 11 a.m. Friday in Corning.
Witnesses said the explosion could be felt on the other side of the city, and insulation from the home was thrown as far as three blocks away.
Fire officials say two people were inside at the time: a man in his 80s and another man in his 40s. They were in the basement.
Firefighters and neighbors rescued the men. They were airlifted to a Syracuse-area hospital.
The cause of the explosion is unknown at this time.
