Lighter Confiscated at Airport
An unusual and somewhat alarming picture appeared on the screen at the security checkpoint at the Rochester Airport Thursday.
Transportation officials say a woman was carrying what looked like a real grenade in her carry-on bag as she passed through security.
She told officials that the grenade replica cigarette lighter was a gift for her brother in North Carolina.
According to TSA officials, it's a gift her brother will not be receiving.
The incident did not prompt any delays at airport operations.
TSA officials advise not to transport "look-alike" weapons on airplanes. When in doubt, the TSA says passengers can go to its website or check out a free downloadable MYTSA
app that has a "Can I Bring feature."
