The trials feature top international riders and their horses. Some of the riders this year will also be competing in the London Olympics.

Riders can take part in different categories including testing partnership and athletic prowess in the triathlon portion of the equestrian sport. That includes dressage, cross country, and stadium jumping.

The trials started in 1990 and have become an attraction for riders from as far away as Australia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, and India.
