Family Safe After Hamlin House Fire
A family is safe after a fire caused major damage to their house in Hamlin Sunday morning.
The Morton Fire Department responded to the Moscow Road home around 2:30.
Fire crews did not find the family in the home and realized they were sleeping in a trailer on the property to keep cool. Firefighters did save their dog from the home.
Officials say the fire started on the second floor and are currently investigating a cause.
The family is being assisted by the Red Cross.
