Today is National Get Outdoors Day
Saturday is National Get Outdoors Day. To promote getting outside, many national and state parks will offer free admission.
The day is sponsored by nonprofit organizations, federal agencies, and the recreation industry in an effort to get more people to try both traditional and non traditional outdoor activities.
Nationwide, more than 130 free special events are planned, including appearances from Smokey the Bear and free fishing lessons.
