New Electric Vehicle Charging Stations to be Installed
A grant from the
New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) will go towards installing electric vehicle charging stations in the City of Rochester.
The city will get $228,000 of a $4.4 million grant. The money will be used to install 24 charging stations at seven highly visible and busy locations around the city, including parking garages, City Hall, the Port of Rochester and the Rochester Public Market.
Electric vehicles provide fuel-efficient alternatives to gas and diesel powered vehicles while helping reduce the nation and state’s dependence on fossil fuels.
