The Seneca Park Zoo hosted its 24th Zoobilation Saturday evening.

This year, the fundraising event focused on the opening of a new exhibit "A Step into Africa."

It was a creation and dream that has been seven years in the making.

"A Step into Africa" is a sanctuary and new home to three African lions.
Zoobilation is the zoo's gala event of the season and helps fund the Seneca Park Zoo.

Michelle Picardo, Zoobilation Coordinator said,"It's definitely a party with a purpose. And it's a great time, but it's also a great cause."

Rachel Baker August, Executive Director of Seneca Park Zoo Society said, "The proceeds from the Zoobilation benefit our conservation, education programs, it helps support new exhibit development and new improvements like 'A Step into Africa'."

This is the first time in the history of the event that it has been sold out with a total of 900 tickets being purchased.
