Passenger Killed in Car Crash in Chili
A woman was killed Monday afternoon in a crash in Chili, according to police.
Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. on Paul Road near Scottsville Road.
Deputies said a car driven by Jerome Brixner, 80, of Chili, was speeding and repeatedly bounced off a guardrail. At the end of the guardrail, the car went off the road and flipped, throwing the female passenger out of the car and killing her.
The Town of Chili confirmed Tuesday morning that Jerome Brixner is the former Town Supervisor. Brixner is listed in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital. No word yet on why his car went off the road.
The name of the woman will be released after police speak with her family.
