BATAVIA, N.Y. — Police are investigating the death of a woman after her body was discovered in a car.
Investigators say 24-year-old Alyce Huntoon was found inside a car in a parking lot on East Main Street around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. She was given emergency treatment and taken to a Batavia hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police say a preliminary autopsy showed there was no obvious physical injuries that could have caused her death. They are awaiting the results of toxicology tests but aren't calling it a homicide investigation.
"We're going to continue to investigate it as if it's a death investigation and pursue the leads as they come in," said Detective Sergeant Patrick Corona of the Batavia Police Department.
Police say toxicology tests could take up to three months.
Huntoon leaves behind two children.
