WASHINGTON D.C. / NEW CAPITOL VISITOR'S CENTER

There's a new underground addition to our nation's capitol building. The new Capitol Visitor's Center is a sight to see and it is making this popular tour much more comfortable for the 1000's that come to visit.

Exhibition Hall is the jewel of this magnificent structure. It houses rare documents and displays that help to explain our system of government and the historical people who were a part of it. After some time here, you may have a better understanding of how the 3 branches of government work. Plenty to see with actual live TV feeds from working congressmen and senators.

The new visitor's center is free to see but getting into the historic part of the capitol under the great rotunda, takes a reservation. You can take the chance of obtaining one when you arrive. Your best bet is to take care of it in advance on line at www.visitthecapitol.gov

Staying in DC is part of the fun and a good choice for proximity is the Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square, a block from the White House. Their 'Family Moments' promotion can save you some money with 50% off a connecting room for the kids. Throw in free breakfast for the kids and you've got a classy 'stay' for a lot less money. See hotel web site for complete details. www.sofitel.com
