ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Affiliated since 2003, the Minnesota Twins and the Rochester Red Wings will continue to work together. The player development contract extension will run through the 2014 season. Twins General Manager, Terry Ryan, was in Rochester to make the announcement with Red Wings management.
However, there was some doubt about an agreement being reached. The last two seasons Rochester teams have lost over 90 games, but this year has been a much better result as the team is playing games that matter late in the season.
"There's a different energy in this stadium this year than there has been for the last couple. I can feel it, I can see it. It's a fun thing to come to this ball park recently," said Ryan. "We;re in the mix. We've got good leadership here, we've got good players here, we have character here. Everything Rochester provides for our organization, we believe in."
