Lawyers said five families of passengers killed in the Continental Airlines Flight 3407 crash have reached settlements with the airlines involved. Lawyers for other passengers' families said more settlements are likely before the wrongful-death cases go to trial in March 2012.

Hard work has paid off for some friends and family of Flight 3407 victims. President Obama signed the Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization extension bill Sunday, developed in response to the crash that killed 50 people in Clarence more than a year ago.
