"Tribute In Light" shines alongside 1 WTC

Sunday night's annual "Tribute In Light" memorial to the World Trade Center was very close to the rising One World Trade Center tower, but organizers said low funds could make the memorial go permanently dark after this year.

U of R Ceremony Dedicated to First Responders

For some fire fighters, police officers, and EMS workers, the attacks of 9/11 inspired them to become first responders. The Monroe County Fire Bureau, members of Rural-Metro Ambulance, and elected leaders attended a colorful memorial service at the University of Rochester.

NEADS members remember 9/11

9/11: Ten Years Later

It is headquartered in a bunker-style building among industrial parks that dot the old Griffis Air Base in Rome. In 2001, it was known as NEADS, the Northeast Air Defense Sector, a unit run by the New York Air National Guard, responsible for defending the skies over the United States. YNN's Bill Carey says the unit faced major challenges on September 11th as it tried to respond to an attack no one could have foreseen.
