Summer in the Caribbean is one the most cost-conscious ways to get a tropical vacation on the cheap, if you can live with the risk of traveling in hurricane season.
Get a taste of luxury from the Ritz Carlton hotels
of the Caribbean and Mexico with its “Comfort You” promotion this summer. It piles on daily breakfast for two, plus a daily $100 resort credit for dining and the spa. For example, rates start at $289 a night in Jamaica, $299 in Cancun and $309 in San Juan.
Hotel LeVillage on the oh-so French isle of St. Bart’s, is offering three to seven night cottage getaways
along with continental breakfast, a one hour massage and a car rental without gas or insurance. The three night, double occupancy rate is $1,000.00, while a seven night stay is roughly $2,000, based on exchange rates at press time. Good for June and July stays.
Deeper in the Caribbean, on the island of Antigua, the all-inclusive Curtain Bluff resort
has free night specials depending on the length of stay from May 15 through July 28. Families looking to reconnect can book the multi-generational week-long package with two interconnecting junior suites for $9,000. This includes three meals daily, all bar drinks, a private sunset sail and cocktail party, use of the gym, tennis courts and water sports.
Don’t have a passport? The U.S. Virgin Islands are on sale for minimum five night bookings that include air and hotel. Get the fifth night free and an instant $200 credit factored into the package price. It also doles out $150 in shopping, attractions and dining credits. The deal must be booked by June 15 for travel through September 30th.
Taxes and service charges are extra on all deals.
