Two Attica inmates face charges
WYOMING COUNTY, N.Y. — Two Attica Correctional facility inmates are charged with promoting prison contraband.
According to State Police, 44-year-old Gamalier Rivera was found in possession of an edged metal object he had secretly hidden on his body. He's currently serving time for second degree robbery and assault for an incident in Queens.
Police say 40-year-old Eduardo Velasquez possessed and secretly smuggled multiple balloons of heroin and marijuana into the prison during an inmate visitation. He's currently serving time for attempted murder for an incident in Kings County.
Rivera and Velasquez were arraigned on the charges and remain in jail.
